What is Invisalign Lite?
Invisalign Lite is another system under the Invisalign umbrella that uses a series of invisible clear aligners to reposition teeth into a straight position. Lite has been developed for more minor cases than the full system, and for more severe cases than the I7.
Why Would I Need Invisalign Lite?
If you are not fully satisfied with your smile and you have minor/moderate imperfections you would like to have corrected, then Invisalign lite may be suitable for you.
At the first assessment we will have a look at your teeth to determine which Invisalign treatment will be ideal for your needs.
Benefits of Invisalign Lite
Invisalign lite is the next step up from the I7 system and can be viewed as a short to mid term orthodontic treatment to straightening your teeth. The exact time it takes to straighten your teeth will be dependent on your own individual case, but we are happy to assess this for you.
The lite system has the same benefits as both the I7 & Invisalign full system and uses a series of clear invisible aligners to straighten your teeth discreetly over the course of treatment.
Invisalign Lite Procedure
Invisalign Lite has the same process as the full & I7 systems. The only differentiating factor will be the length of time it takes to complete your case. I7 are aimed at patients with more minor cases. Lite is for more complex cases and the full system is for even more complex cases.
After your assessment and you are deemed as being dentally fit and suitable for Invisalign Lite, we will take impressions of your teeth. These are then sent to Invisalign so they can make your clear aligners.
When they come back, your dentist will show you how to fit them and give you the all the information you need so you can begin your journey to straight teeth. We will give you a series of aligners that will need to be worn one after the other. Each aligner is typically worn over a 2 week period before moving onto the next one (your dentist will advise). Every 6-8 weeks you will have an appointment with your dentist where they will check on the progress of your teeth and issue your next series of aligners.
When you finish treatment, the last aligner of the series will then become your retainer to keep your teeth in place (for retention).
